Announcements

Dear supporters of the MGA Triple Crown Showdown,

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to develop, the MGA Board of Directors along with the MGA Triple Crown Showdown Run Committee have made the decision to transition this year’s race to a Virtual Race. This has not been an easy decision to make, but the health and safety of all of our participants, volunteers, and supporters are at the center of our minds.

Important Details to Note:

1. Your Current 2020 Registration. If you have already registered for the 10th Annual MGA Triple Crown Showdown, your registration has been rolled over to a Virtual registration. Be on the lookout for more information about how you can compete and potentially win the race virtually!

2. Raffle Tickets. If you purchased raffle tickets, we will still be drawing for the raffle on May 17, 2020.

3. Race Merchandise. If you purchased merchandise while registering, it will be sent to you.

4. 2021 Race Discount. Additionally, you’ll want to be on the lookout for a discount code to participate in next year’s race!

As a 501c3 organization, the Myasthenia Gravis Association has relied on your involvement over these last 10 years. The MGA Triple Crown Showdown has become our largest fundraiser and awareness activity and our livelihood greatly benefits from its success. Prior to the launch of the MGA Triple Crown Showdown 10 years ago, the MGA was barely able to make ends meet. Fast forward to 2019, we were able to add a third staff person and open a clinic partnership at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, we were able to host over 41 support groups in 9 markets across Kansas, Missouri and NW Arkansas, hold 70 clinics at the University of Kansas Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital where 433 patients were seen, provide 79 new patient packets and most importantly continue to offer all of our services at NO charge to those we serve. You have each played a role in helping us achieve our goals and meet the needs of those impacted by this rare disease as a small but mighty organization!

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate through this pandemic. We know this unsettling situation has affected many individuals and businesses. We look forward to celebrating in person with you at our 10th Annual MGA Triple Crown Showdown on May 16, 2021! We thought this year would be a big party but just wait for next year!

With appreciation,

Allison Foss
