Each year at our annual meeting, a board of directors and officers are elected to fulfill the MGA mission through financial and organizational responsibilities. Members serve a 3-year term and are expected to attend all meetings and functions of the association.

John grew up in Independence, MO, where he graduated from Truman High School and later graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. He taught high school social studies for five years in the late 70's and then began to work for GE Lighting Business Group as a sales representative in 1981. In 1990, John founded Premier Lighting & Controls, a manufacturers rep agency that sells commercial and industrial lighting products. He is currently VP of sales for the company.
Stephanie is a graduate of Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA with a B.A. in Business Administration. She is an executive assistant at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. Stephanie has worked on the MGA Triple Crown Showdown committee since 2014. She lives in Overland Park, KS with her husband, Jeremy, and enjoys running, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with her friends.
LaDonna is a territory manager with Soleo Health. She has been in the Kansas City healthcare community for many years and previously served as a board member for the MGA. When not working, LaDonna’s favorite past time is traveling. She also enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors.
Nancy recently joined the MGA Board of Directors. She was diagnosed with MG 17 years ago. Nancy is currently a Concierge at Tallgrass Creek Retirement Community. Event planning and volunteer recruitment are skills Nancy hopes to transfer from the Boy Scouts of America to the MGA. Her husband, Rob, and sons, Ivor (22) and Aris (20), round out the Vinsant home team.
Brodie is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Business Finance and a B.S. in Molecular Bioscience. He has worked in the clinical research industry since 2009 and is currently a senior clinical research associate with Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Brodie lives in Overland Park, KS with his dog, Ollie.
Brett is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Horticulture. He is the midwest business manager for an agricultural adjuvant company, KALO, Inc. located in Overland Park, KS. Brett enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and is an avid fan and apologist for the Iowa State Cyclones, Chiefs, and Royals. He is married to Jacqueline and the father of two boys, Owen and Wyatt, and one girl, Isla. Before joining the board, Brett was involved with the MGA Triple Crown Showdown for many years.
Joe is an attorney and member of Lewis Rice LLC, practicing in the area of business and civil litigation. He earned his B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas and his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. Joe lives in Overland Park, KS with his significant other, Jessica, and her son, Dominic.
Lisa is the founder and President of ARJ Infusion Services, a specialty pharmacy and home infusion company, established in 2000. She received her B.S. in Nursing from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Lisa is a member of the Infusion Nurses Society and is a certified registered infusion nurse (CRNI). Lisa has served as MGA Board President and Secretary. Lisa and her husband, Jim, reside in Raymore, MO.
Derek is vice president of commercial lending at OakStar Bank in Overland Park, KS. He has a B.S. in Financial Controllership from Kansas State and has worked in the field of finance since 2005. Derek lives in Overland Park, KS with his wife Nina and has two children.
Michael is a senior vice president of operations and marketing for the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). Prior to joining ATG, Michael worked at Deluxe Corporation and Cap Gemini Consulting, having served in multiple sales, marketing, and operational roles. He holds a B.S. degree in Marketing from Missouri State University and a master’s degree from Webster University. Michael is active in the Kansas City community and is co-founder of the Sporting Blue Valley TEAM Soccer program, a soccer program designed for children with special needs. Michael and his wife, Dorothy, live in Overland Park, KS, and have 3 daughters and 2 grandsons. Michael and his family were impacted by myasthenia gravis after his father battled it for many years.
Dr. Sand is the director of MD Electrodiagnosis. He graduated as a fellow at the University of Iowa with a specialty in neurology and emphasis in neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Sand’s current area of expertise is in the electronic testing of neurological and muscular diseases. He has been a practicing neurologist in the Kansas City area since 1987. Dr. Sand is a past president of the MGA and lives in Leawood, KS with his wife, Melinda.
