Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune, neuromuscular disease characterized by fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups. It is a potentially fatal disease without a cure; however, with early diagnosis and proper medical treatment, the disease can be controlled. The prevalence of MG in the United States is estimated to be about 20 out of 100,000. Symptoms include fatigue, droopy eyelids, double vision, and difficulty smiling, speaking, swallowing, and breathing.
