The MGA Triple Crown Showdown 5K Run/Walk and Mile Mosey & Tot Trot is more than just fundraising event for the MGA; its an opportunity to raise awareness about this autoimmune, neuromuscular disease and learn about the programs and services that the MGA offers.  This event would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers and we appreciate the time and effort the organizing committee gives to help sustain the work of the MGA.

For more information regarding our 5K and Tot Trot, please contact Allison Foss at allisonfoss@mgakc.org, or visit www.mga5k.com! Save the date for May 19, 2023 at Town Center Plaza in Leawood, KS!

Crown Town Trivia Night | Kansas City, MO

The MGA holds it’s Annual Meeting each fall in Kansas City, MO. This is an opportunity for the MGA to share with stakeholders organizational updates as well as recognize key partners.  The meeting also holds an educational component and a key speaker or topic related to MG. This is a great opportunity to come together and learn about the MGA as well as learn more about MG.  The meeting is supported by many of our partners and gives patients, providers, and families time to visit directly with vendors that may play a role in their care.   Our 64th Annual Meeting will be held as a hybrid model on Saturday October 26, 2024.  Attend in person at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City or participate virtually.  Stay tuned for more information.

At the beginning of the 2013, the MGA’s new Wichita Support Group Coordinators, Larry & Dana Paxson, began to toss around the idea of having a walk for awareness in Wichita.  Less than 5 months later on May 11th, they turned this idea into a reality and coordinated Wichita’s FIRST Annual MG Walk for Awareness.  Over 90 participants showed up at Towne West Square Mall to help raise awareness and over $4,000.00 was raised!

In 2018, the walk was rebranded to the MGA Snowflake Shuffle 0.1K.

The seminar featured various speakers including our partnered physicians from Saint Louis University as well as representatives from different drug companies and clinical trial organizations. Our goal with the seminar each year is to provide patients and families affected by MG with up-to-date information regarding clinical trials, new drug developments, and educate the community on the latest information related to myasthenia gravis.  Stay tuned for more details about next seminar.
